Tenconi Insulated Rail Joints

TENCONI Insulated Rail Joints are encapsulated joints made of High Tensile steel for unsurpassed strength and a special blend of Polyamide 12 for superb electro-mechanical characteristics. Because these joints do not rely on a vulnerable adhesive bond, they offer longer life than standard glued joints and therefore reduce operational costs.

TENCONI IJs are the solution of choice of the most demanding railroads, from high frequency city transit to heavy load coal lines.

Tenconi Insulated Rail Joints offer:

About cold weather performance

The Tenconi joint will typically open up in cold weather, at around 60 ton (132 kips) longitudinal load. When temperature rises, the joint will close again.
Unlike with glued joints, this is completely normal; the joint remains fully functional in all situations!
